A history of working together

One of the world’s largest and most complex infrastructure projects required both cooperation, innovative ideas and broad expertise. There and then the seed to what would become the Midroc Group was planted.

The large underground oil storage project

The first project implemented by the group is what we call the large underground oil storage project. The mission was to build an enormous rock cavern for underground storage of refined oil products, in the middle of the desert. The businessman Mohammed Al-Amoudi won the project order in collaboration with the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise and several other Swedish companies. To implement the massive underground storage project, a number of companies were acquired both in Sweden and abroad. Among them was the project company ABV Rock Group, which tied the whole project together. To gather the newly acquired companies under one brand, Midroc was established by Lennart Wikström in 1996.
